A Familiar Acquaintance
We've been around each other, day by day
Shared some laughs, some words in disarray
Your rough exterior, a shield to bear
Still, I see glimpses of a person I can care
Though our interactions can be quite a test
I'll keep my patience, do my best
To find the good in you, to understand
A connection, however tense, that's still a part of my land
No grand love or best of friends, I know
Just a familiar acquaintance, as we go
Perhaps someday we'll find a common ground
Where our words and actions spin around
